The Sunnect Lock Is Tough As A Tank

If you are thinking about buying an electronic deadbolt for your home I would urge you to do a little bit of research before making a decision. The reason I say this is that many people go off thinking that an electronic deadbolt is going to make their life so much simpler by just having to press a few buttons to get into their home and no longer need to use a key.

The sad fact is every electronic deadbolt that I’ve seen except for one has a keyhole in the door handle that is used by a regular key as a backup method in case something happens to the locking mechanism.

Now many people would not think much about what I just said but the fact is if you have a keyhole in your lock your lock is vulnerable. The lock could be picked by anyone with a little bit of skill or even worse it could be bumped by anyone with a few minutes of time, an Internet connection and an old key that they can file down into a bump key.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that if you spend the money for an electronic deadbolt thinking you’re going to be more secure you are wrong. The sad fact is that over 90% of all locks with a keyhole can be opened in less than 30 seconds by anyone with a bump key.

I mentioned earlier that I could only find one lock that did not have a keyhole in it and that lock is the Sunnect AP 501. This lock has won numerous awards and is praised by professional locksmiths around the country as being built as “tough as a tank” while still looking great and providing a high level of security for your home.
